By creating a Greyline account or using the Greyline service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and The Meridian Lab LLC ("we", "our", "Meridian Lab"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Greyline.
If you are using Greyline on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Greyline is a reverse proxy service that inspects HTTP requests for signals of autonomous AI agent activity, scores them, and routes detected agent traffic to a counter-agent system (the "Bouncer"). Greyline does not provide security guarantees against all automated traffic — it specifically targets autonomous AI agents as defined by its signal detection system.
The service is provided on a subscription basis with free and paid tiers as described on our pricing page.

Free tier accounts are subject to usage limits as described on the pricing page. Limits may change with 30 days' notice to free tier users.
Greyline operates on Cloudflare's global edge network and targets 99.9% monthly uptime. We do not currently offer formal SLA credits. For uptime-critical deployments, we recommend the fail-open architecture: all Greyline errors result in requests passing through to your origin unchanged — Greyline never causes your API to go down due to its own failure.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All charges are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.
If your payment fails, we will notify you by email and suspend paid-tier features after a 7-day grace period. Your account and data will be retained for 30 days after suspension before deletion.
We may change pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Existing subscribers will not see price increases until their next renewal after the notice period.
Greyline, the Greyline signal detection system, the Bouncer, and all associated software are the intellectual property of The Meridian Lab LLC. You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the service as described in these Terms.
You retain all rights to your own API traffic, customer data, and configuration data. You grant Meridian Lab a limited license to process your traffic data for the purpose of providing the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
GREYLINE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL DETECT ALL AUTONOMOUS AI AGENT TRAFFIC.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MERIDIAN LAB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF GREYLINE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Meridian Lab LLC and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of Greyline; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any claims by your API users related to how you have deployed Greyline.
You may cancel your account at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in abuse of the service, or fail to pay. We will notify you by email unless prohibited by law or the violation is severe enough to warrant immediate action (e.g., using Greyline to intercept unauthorized traffic).
Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. We will retain your data for 30 days before deletion, during which time you may request an export.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Greyline after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may cancel your account before the effective date.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
